I’ve been trying to say this for a long time, but—you being you—you kept jumping in, warning me about disasters you made up and insisting I deal with them first.
But today, I’m finally writing the letter you never wanted.
We need to talk.
Anxiety, our relationship has been… a lot. You showed up uninvited, settled in like you belonged here, and convinced me your constant worry was “helping”—that tension was “motivation,” that spiraling thoughts were “preparation.”
And for a while, I believed you.
You acted like an overprotective guardian, whispering “What if?” until I was exhausted and on edge, waiting for threats that never came.
And honestly? I’m tired.
Tired of planning escape routes in cafés. Tired of imagining disasters while doing normal things. Tired of your voice drowning out mine.
So here it is: I need some space.
Not a full breakup—you’re part of being human—but boundaries. Limits. Healthier terms.
Because underneath all your noise, I’ve realized something important on how to deal with anxiety:
I’m allowed to feel safe.
